Riverside Regional Jail Special Olympics

Torch Run

Each year, law enforcement officers from across the state raise money for Special Olympics Virginia® (SOVA) by conducting the Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics. Since 1987, when the Virginia Law Enforcement Torch Run began, it has grown consistently every year.

Special Olympics Support

Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.

The Riverside Regional Jail has been a long time supporter of Special Olympics Virginia and its Law Enforcement Torch Run and Polar Plunge events. This past year Riverside along with other law enforcement agencies in Region 4 raised almost $20,000 in support of local athletes with developmental disabilities. If you would like to learn more about the Law Enforcement Torch Run and other Special Olympics Virginia events, please contact me, or visit, the Special Olympics Virginia website for more information.
