How do I fill out the mailing address to send mail to an inmate?

All mailed correspondence must be addressed to the inmate's full name and inmate number along with current housing location (if known).

How do I send money to an inmate?

You may send money online using your credit card via our commissary portal, or by using cash and/or credit card at the jail facility using our touchscreen kiosk located in the Lobby. You may also send money by obtaining a money order or other form of certified funds. These funds may be delivered via mail or brought to the jail's Lobby personnel Monday-Friday 7:00am-9:30pm or Saturday & Sunday 8:00am-9:30pm. All funds must be made payable to the inmate's name in care of Riverside Regional Jail with the inmates jail assigned identification number.

How do I find out if a friend or family member is incarcerated in the jail facility?

Call the facility directly at (804) 524-6600 and provide the name of the individual in question to the answering jail personnel who will provide you the information or direct you to the applicable department to handle your call.

Are there size limitations on mail sent to inmates?

All mailed items larger than US letter size (8.5 X 11in) are subject to inspection and return to sender.

What books are inmates allowed to receive?

Soft-back reading materials mailed directly from the publisher or distributor.
