Jail Officer

Salary: $31,610.00

The Riverside Regional Jail is seeking full-time Jail Officers to provide custody/control of inmates. Duties include (but are not limited to): Ensuring conformity with rules and regulations governing the conduct and behavior of the inmate population; Assuming responsibility for the security and welfare of inmates; Preparing various reports, logs, and documents.

Minimum qualifications: Applicants must possess either a high school diploma or G.E.D. and a valid Virginia state driver's license; must be a United States citizen and at least 18 years of age; must be able to work all times of the day to include weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts; must not have been convicted of, or plead "guilty" or "no contest" to any felony, or any offense that would be classified as a felony if committed in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Prior correctional experience with a public, private, or military agency preferred but not required.
