Jail Officer

Riverside Regional Jail is seeking full-time Jail Officers to provide custody/control of inmates.

Duties include ensuring conformity with rules and regulations, governing the conduct and behavior of the inmate population and staff, assuming responsibility for the security and welfare of inmates, as well as preparing various reports, logs, and documents.

Minimum Qualifications: Must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. and a valid driver’s license. Incumbent must be a U.S. citizen and at least 18-years of age, as well as be able to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts. Incumbent must not have been convicted of, or plead guilty or no contest to a felony, or any offense that would be a felony if committed in Virginia. Experience in a Jail or corrections facility with a public, private, or military agency preferred but not required.

DENTIST

Riverside Regional Jail is currently seeking a Dentist for the Jail’s medical department. The incumbent will diagnose and treat diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth and gums, and related oral structures by performing the following duties: Examines inmates to determine nature of condition; Cleans teeth and provides preventive dental services to inmates such as applications of fluoride and sealants to teeth; Caps injured teeth and fills cavities; Extracts diseased teeth; Educate inmates in oral and dental hygiene. Incumbent must be able to evaluate patient treatment and delivery of services.

Education and Experience: Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from an accredited dental school as well as a current license to practice in the State of Virginia. Salary: Negotiable. Opened until filled.
