The Administration Department comprises the training and accreditation, purchasing, payroll, inmate accounts, accounts payable, budgeting, human resources, risk management, accounts receivable, general accounting, cash management and financial reporting functions. The Department is charged with staff recruitment and employee benefits, strict accountability of funds and assets, procuring quality goods and services in accordance with the Virginia Procurement Act, minimizing loss exposure and financial reporting.

Training / Accreditation
The Training Department schedules training for all employees of Riverside Regional Jail. Sources from outside agencies, colleges and law enforcement as well as in-house instructors are utilized. Continuous training provides staff with the knowledge and skills to help employees become more advanced, productive, professional, and creative in performing their duties with the organization.

Riverside Regional Jail has been nationally accredited by the American Correctional Association.  Accreditation is a process where the jail voluntarily participates, to improve the quality of services, care and programs provided to inmates.
